Non Flexible Yoga

Quite a few people have been saying to me lately that they would love to try yoga but they are “not flexible enough.”

This is not a requirement of yoga.

Yoga adapts to work for everyone.

It is not about you trying to fit in with yoga.

There is no yoga “body type”.

You are most welcome to bring ambitions. Or not. It doesn’t matter.

There are no particular clothing requirements or aesthetics.

Yoga fits in to work with you, your body, your mind.

It’s a celebration of wildness and diversity in harmony.

For me, it’s Wild Harmony Yoga.

Loving and celebrating all of yoga.

Unity.

Classes accommodate everyone and there are always options to modify and adapt asanas to work for you.

Each body is unique, as is each mind.

Personally, I have very “tight” or “short” hamstrings. They have only begun to ease up a little after many many years of yoga. It’s a continuous somatic adventure.

There is no rush, no race, no competition. Yoga has helped me to become comfortable with myself and to accept myself as I am. With all the quirkiness and wild weirdness and to laugh out loud at myself sometimes too.

Self compassion and self care are so important in a world of stress, tension, insecurity and uncertainty.

Yoga provides us with all the tools we need to deal with all of this in and beyond classes.

Namaste 🙏
